As athletes we want to try and control EVERYTHING! Players try to control their playing time, what coach is thinking, their teammate reactions and attitudes, to the refs, fans, parents, and more. It doesn’t even end there! That’s just on the court. Then we add all the things off the court as well.
The best athletes understand that there’s only 5 ‘buckets’ of things in their life, on and off the court, that they can fully control. If you want to be great, you must understand how to control these 5 things better.
These are the ONLY things that an athlete can completely control to improve their performance:
1) Training
2) Sleep
3) Nutrition
4) Recovery
5) MINDSET
